Clonazolam (also known as clonitrazolam) is a novel drug of the triazolobenzodiazepine (TBZD) class, which are benzodiazepines (BZDs) chemical class which produces anxiolytic, sedative, muscle relaxant, and amnesic effects when administered. This compound is a novel research chemical derivative of the FDA-approved drugs clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivitrol) and alprazolam (Xanax). Clonazolam is reported to be roughly 2.5x as potent as alprazolam. fused with a triazole ring. It has had very little research done about its effects and metabolism, and has been sold online as a designer drug.
